Joseph married at Stephentown, New York and all of his children were born there.
About 1818, Joseph, Sr. moved to Brown County, Ohio. In the 1830's
he moved again to Cain Township, Fountain County, Indiana. In 1836 he
homesteaded land in section 18 of that township, near the settlement of
Hillsboro. Joseph, Jr. homesteaded land nearby in section 20. Joseph, Sr.
resided there until about 1840, when he moved to Nauvoo, Hancock
County, Illinois.
He was baptised a Mormon and lived in Nauvoo when it was a Mormon
city. He is shown in tax lists as living in Kimball's Addition in 1842 and
1844. He received a Patriarchal Blessing at the hands of William Smith,
Patriarch to the Church, in August, 1845.
According to LDS records he died in 1848, and is buried at Montrose,
Lee County, Iowa. Elsa Diadema Brockway died the same year and is
buried at the same place. Montrose, Iowa was one of the places that
members of the LDS church gathered after they had been driven from
Nauvoo to wait to go to Utah.
Joseph died in 1848 and was buried at Montrose Cemetery, Montrose. His memorial has birth and death information and links to those of his parents, wife and children.[1]

Curtis-2443 and Curtis-79 appear to represent the same person because: Same birth and death details. Same wife. The son attached to Curtis-79 seems to have different parents so he will need to be detached. I'll do that now. Thanks!
