Disputed Parents

Alleged parents John Curtis & Elizabeth Wells have no known factual basis. The parish registers do not support their existence or relationship.

Biography

Birth

? 17 May 1540 ? The parish registers in Nazeing don't go back to 1540. 17 May is the same date as his burial. He had children (allegedly) bpt 1560, so 1540 is not totally unreasonable as an estimate.

Burial

William was buried 17 May 1585, in the churchyard at the parish church Nazeing, Essex, England[1]

I don't have the energy for this. But, several changes have been made, which have no basis in fact. Note that they were not made by any of the managers or trusted list persons, so it's not your fault.

Lets start with the birth date 17 May 1540. Prove it! Find any legitimate evidence for it. Parish registers in Harwich and Nazeing don't exist for 1540. Find a grave without a stone doesn't count. These parents can't be proven, they were formerly marked uncertain. He had a wife but it wasn't either of these people. She should be unknown. Howe was formerly disconnected and Peacock is new and only sourced by unsourced family trees. The most accurate thing to do would be to revert the profile back to the way I left it 26 Jun 2017. You can see what it looked like before https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Curtis-9&diff=57868121&oldid=49846267 Please. Objections? Thank you.
