Biography

In the next Cencus 1880, when the family of Peter Johnson, father of Anna has moved to Leadville, Lake, Colorad (Main street 221). Ingeborg is not listed and Peter Johnson is said to be a widower, so she must have died 1870-1880. The children are: Jennie (Johanna) Johnson, Mary Johnson, Matilda Johnson. Johan should have been 13 years old, so he should still be living with his family, so he has probably died. Anna has married Steven Curtis and they live on Sixth Street. He is a teamster and have been out of work for four months[1]

In the letter from Peter Johnson to his sister Elisabet Anna is mentioned: I live with Anna this Winter and she has a good Life. her husband earnes 2 to 300 dollars a month, he is also agent for a Company in Chicago. So he is almost always travelling. He is american, but he is nevertheless kind and he is not drinking any kind of spirits, neither beer nor brandy. Anna she has a boy 9 month old. He is big after his age. Anna says she is going to make portraits of herself and her husband and the boy and send to you, and also to mother and father, and to aunt (fathers sister) Brita in Fårsbaken (Forsbacka). I understand you have sent sent me portraits of the children, but I have not got them. I sent 5 portraits home at New Year to P A S and asked him to distribute them, one to you and one to Åttersta, because I thought they all lived together, but father and mother can have it when they are alive, and after that can Anna get it, and one was to my sister Brita, and P A S and O Larsson in Yttermyra should have one each.

The family Curtis is found in the 1900 Census in Gem, Shoshone, Idaho. There we get the information that Anna and Stephen married 1883. [2]
