Thomas was born in 1833. He passed away in 1922.
Thomas Jefferson Curtis was the son of Enoch Curtis and Celia Catherine Anderson.
"The death of Thomas Jefferson Curtis, aged 89 years, at the home of his daughter in the Seely Chapel neighborhood on Tuesday, February 28, was the passing of one of Linn County's old-time citizens. The deceased came with his parents to this county from Howard county, where he was born, at but two years of age. The parents located on a farm between Brookfield and Marceline, and in that neighborhood Mr. Curtis spent all the days of his long life, an honored and respected citizen of this community. Since the death of his wife, Mr. Curtis had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Willard Wolfe.
The funeral took place Wednesday, March 1, from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wolfe. Rev. Mr. Chappell, pastor of the Baptist Church at Marceline, concucted the services. Interment was made in the Redding Cemetery.
The surviving childen are Mrs. Willard Wolfe, of the Seely Chapel neighborhood, and Mrs. Harry E. Lamar, of Brookfield."
