Biography

Anne Aylett was listed as the second of four daughters of William and Anne Aylett in her father's 1730 will, at which point she was married to Benjamin Walker. By the time of a 1755 law suit by William's heirs, she had died but had been married to Rice Curtis, Jr. She had children by both marriages.

She was an executor of her first husband's will in Caroline County, Virginia in 1738, and her eldest son, John Walker, was then said to be 12 years of age.[1] She seems to have been dead by 1755, since her daughters were mentioned as her father's heirs in her stead in a lawsuit. Harris puts her death in 1752.[2]

Died Y. 1752 Caroline County, Province of Virginia. Age: 44-45.

Curtis-9919 and Aylett-165 appear to represent the same person because: Plainly the same person: same parents, same husband

But not this Anne Aylett; the one who married Augustine Washington was her niece Anne, daughter off her brother William and his first wife, Anne Ashton.

As commented already, this Ann Curtis is the same person as Aylett-165 Anne (Aylett) Curtis Walker (abt. 1705 - abt. 1752). We should certainly merge them!

Note that there its no primary evidence that anyone has so far located for Anne's mother being from the Woodward family - there is no record of her marriage as there is none of the baptism of her children.

I think this really is Anne Aylett but he used the wrong LNAB. Anne married twice, first to Benjamin Walker and second to Rice Curtis, so her LNAB should be Aylett. Dave did this with Judith (Aylett) Buckner too, creating a new Judith Buckner when we already had Judith Aylet, but he refused to merge them. I've been trying to clean up these Aylett profiles, but many are duplicated and several profile managers have been refusing to complete the merges. It's getting to be rather frustrating.

Clearly not the correct parents based on LNAB
