  • Thomas CURTISS [1] was born 14 Jan 1648 in Stratford, Fairfield Co., Connecticut.
  • Thomas died 5 May 1736 in Wallingford, New Haven Co., Connecticut. [2]
  • Occupation: surveyor
  • Thomas Curtiss, the sixth child of John and Elizabeth, was born in Wallingford on January 14, 1648. He married, date unknown, Mary Merriman, born in New Haven on July 12, 1657, the daughter of Nathaniel Merriman (1613-1694) and Joan Lines (1628-1709). Her father was born in London, England and I would assume that her mother was also born in England although several sources have her born in New Haven, CT which is very unlikely given the date of her birth.
  • Between 1675 and 1701 there were 11 children born to Thomas and Mary; Mary, Nathaniel, Samuel, Elizabeth, Hannah, Thomas, Abigail, Jerimima, Rebecca, John, and Lydia.[3]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with Thomas:

Curtis-5938 and Curtiss-14 appear to represent the same person because: identical birth and death, jacobus indicates Curtiss is correct spelling
