Biography

James[Cutting] bought a 260 acre farm of the Roswell Hunt estate, located on the hill south of Pike Station. Of his children, three sons, Joseph B., John W. and James L. reside in Haverhill, Jerusha (Mrs. Benjamin Hatch) lives in Hanover, Julia (Mrs. Charles Bridgman) lives in New York City, and Laura (Mrs. Joseph McGreggor)[Gregory] is a resident of Northfield VT. John W.’s death certificate says his father was born in “Croydon”


1858 Haverhill, NH Census lists a James Cutting age 60 living with “Rebecca [Cutting] ” age 53, Harriet Cutting, age 14, George Cutting age 4, & Polly Martin age 58
