I was born in Sydney and now live in Melbourne Australia. It is only in the last couple of years that I have taken over from my sister and actively pursued an interest in our family history and now I am hooked. So far I have had reasonable success with the Australian & UK branches, except for John Osborne D'Arcy, great grandfather on my fathers side who emigrated from the UK in Feb 1876 on a vessel named the Benan. Have had much more success on the maternal side and found my way back to before the year 1500 so far. Now that I have had a taste of success I am keen to continue and find a way past my impasse.

Can you give me some idea of where you have already looked for information so i don't suggest things you have already tried.

My great grandfather on my fathers side is a man of mystery. I am looking to unlock some of the mystery of his movements in the UK.
