Biography
A man named Jan DeVoe, born in the Netherlands circa 1596 to 1620 and later a resident of Philipsburg in New Netherland (modern-day Philipsburg, Westchester County, New York), is identified in some genealogies. He has been said to be either or both the husband of Annetje Ruys or the father of the Christina Jans who married Jochem Woutersz Van Wert. [1][2] However, the woman who married Jochem Van Wert is identified as Stijntje Jans Snedeker, whose mother was Annetje Ruys.
DEVoe-213 was created by Beth White through the import of Sennett Eugene Family Tree(1)_2016-05-21_2016-05-21.ged on May 28, 2016.

Looks ok to me this way Ellen, so thanks for the help. I didn't figure they were the same either, but could not find anything else about or for a Jan DeVoe, the only thing that was clear was that the assumed daughter Stijntje Jans (Christiena) was connected as wife to Jochem Woutersz (van Weert) so he still had two duplicate wifes, her parents were known and Jan DeVoe wasn't her father, so to be able to merge the duplicates I had to disconnect the DeVoe father and to prevent he would just become a floater I proposed a merge with the earliest Jan (because it indeed looked this person didn't excist)
Perhaps this early Jan DeVoe was added to try and connect the NNS family somehow to the (noble) de Vaux family from France? ...Although the earliest New Netherland Settler from (perhaps the de Veaux family?) according this book was a Matheus De Vos (as his name then was spelled) found in New Amsterdam in 1653..
In her file BCFam-DeVoe.pdf (see Space:Early Bergen County Families, Pat Wardell noted a "Jans DeVoe" who lived in Philipsburgh, Westchester County, and possibly had a daughter Christina Jans who married Joachim Woutersz Van Wert. I suppose that inference was the evidence for concluding that Janse-122 (formerly connected as this man's daughter) is the same person as Jans-67. Maybe so, but that does not somehow convert "Jan(s) DeVoe" into Dufoor-2, who was a generation or two younger.
I don't see Wardell's basis for Jans DeVoe, but I think there may be a reason to restore the original content of this profile (as an unconnected person) and amplify it with information from Wardell's notes.
This started out as the profile of a man named Jan DeVoe who was born in 1596 in France and died in 1670 in the Netherlands. The profile was unsourced and difficult to trace, but it's not at all obvious to me that this really is the "same person" as Jan de Four born 59 years after 1596. Did Beth White ever respond to queries about her intentions here?
Either Beth or Carrie connected to Jan DeVoe to a daughter Christiena Janse-122. Her profile has been altered to make her look exactly like another woman of the same name, but the alteration doesn't convince me that they are truly the same person.
And the daughter attached here probably is a duplicate of Stijntje Jans (Christina) Snedeker ? If so she now has the wrong father and we would like to correct this of course.
All help is appreciated of course, so many thanks in advance and greets from the Netherlands,
Bea :)

Do you perhaps have a source or more info for this person ?
It looks like perhaps he was related to David de Four or supposed to be his father or son Jan Davids de Four ?
