The Iroquois attacked Rivière-des-Prairies on 9 August 1689, and Pierre Dagenay as well as Anne Brandon were both killed.[9] Her body was never found to be properly buried. A procuration signed by their children but missed by various authors confirmed that she had found the same fate as her husband. Signed on 21 September 1702 before Me Pierre Raimbault, notary in Montréal, the act mentions the names of Pierre Dagenet, Pierre Chonar and Françoise Dagenet his wife, Claude du May dit la Feuillade and Cécile Dagenet his wife, Élisabeth Dagenet wife of Jean Auger dit Libourne, son and daughters of deceased Pierre Dagenet inhabitant of this island and tailor during his lifetime and of deceased Anne Brandon his wife their father and mother taken and killed by the Hiroquois around 14 years ago .[11][12]
Pierre Dagenais was killed by the Iroquois 9 August 1689 in Rivière-des-Prairies; his bones which were originally burried at la pointe à Derocher were put to final rest in Rivière-des-Prairies cemetery on 8 August 1729, 41 years after his demise.[13]
