Biography
The following is text from his Find A Grave Memorial:
Dorrise, or Doras, Daigle was born near China, Texas on March 7, 1913. His family later moved to a farm near Devers, Texas. When Dorrise was about 10 years old, the family returned to Church Point, Louisiana, the birthplace of his parents, Pierre Daigle and Meliza Jannise Daigle. Dorrise had two sisters, Ada and Lena, and three brothers, Horace, Adras and Leonce.
In 1932, Dorrise married Isabelle Marie Benoit in Church Point. Their two oldest children were born in Welsh, Louisiana where Dorrise was farming with an uncle. In 1940, Dorrise and Isabelle returned to China, Texas. Dorrise eventually went to work at the Magnolia Refinery and moved to Beaumont. In 1968, the family moved to the Westbury area near China where Dorrise remained until his death.
