Dailey was born on or about 29 January 1844 in Troy NY, and died of tuberculosis on 12 February 1892 at 268 St. Mark’s Place in Brooklyn NY. The certificate confirms that he was a painter and that his father was born in England and his mother in Canada. James L. Dailey is buried in Holy Cross in Brooklyn on 23 February 1892 in section Old Ground, row I, plot 130/31 rear, grave 2.
In the 14 February 1892 edition of the BE, there is an announcement of the death of James L. Dailey. It is indicated that he was the husband of Mary Dailey of Pembroke Ontario, and the eldest daughter of Michael Kennedy of Pembroke. Newspapers of Pembroke were requested to copy.
