He graduated from The Lawrenceville School in 1941, and attended Cornell University.
In 1944, he married Sue (Ruth) White of Norwalk, Connecticut, and together they raised their family of five children in Garrison.
“Tip” served as past president and represented the fourth generation of N. Dain's Sons, Peekskill's oldest business, and one of the oldest family-owned retail lumber businesses in the country. Professionally, Mr. Dain spent his career as an advertising executive in New York City.
Locally, he served his community in multiple ways — as a Vestryman at St. Philip's Church, school board member at Garrison School, Officer of the Republican Committee, and volunteer at the Garrison Fire Company and Stony Kill Farm Environmental Education Center, Wappingers Falls.
He is buried in Hillside Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor, Westchester County, New York. [4]
