His birth is seen in some places as 28 Jan 1758.[4]
He was a Revolutionary War soldier in a Connecticut regiment, [4] serving with Capts Thomas Dyar and Daniel Tilden and Col Durkee. [5]
He and wife Anne Chamberlain had the following children:
Olson (or Alson) Dean, b. 04 Aug 1783
William Dean, b. 23 Mar 1785
Lurancy Dean, b. 1786 (may have died young, her name was a derivation of Laurentia, several cousins of the following generations carried the name Laura) [4]this is evidently Lurancy Dean, who lived on to be baptized in 1801, marry Ira Porter in 1807, and pass away in 1861
Orrin W. Dean, b.13 May 1788
Calvin Dean, b.1790 (mentioned in Onondaga accounts)[4]
Alba (or Alby) Dean, b. 1793, m. Sally Morgan of VT (related to the Doolittle Family)[4]
Sarah Dean, b. 1795
Marvin Dean, b. 1796
Gorden Dean, b. 1797
Rial Dean, b. 04 Jun 1802
Several of these children, regardless of age, were baptized in 1801 at the Congregational Church, Town of Paris, Oneida County, New York (evidently aka Paris Religious Society):
"William Origin Albagin Marvin and Gurdon the sons, Luraney Anne and Sarah the daughters of William DEAN and Anne his wife, Nov. 5, 1801."[6]
"DEAN, Anson and William Dean, sons of William Dean and Anne his wife, died from home with Typhus fever, May --, 1806."[7]
William passed away in 1836 and is buried in Dodge Cemetery, Pompey Center, Onondaga County, New York. [8][9]
