Samuel was born in about 1784, the son of Samuel Dains and Abigail Stanton. He was baptized on 28 August 1785 in Brooklyn, Connecticut First Trinitarian Congregational Church.[1]

It may be surmised the he passed away before 1822 as he is not mentioned in his father's will, nor are any heirs.[2]
