Elizabeth Ann Dale, born in South Carolina, and her husband William Ellis, born in Mississippi, are mentioned as parents in the death record of their son, S. L. Ellis, who was born 13 February 1857 in Columbus, MS, and died, aged 82, on 4 January 1940 in Newcastle, Young, Texas.[3]
