George T. Dallas was born about 1836 in Pittsylvania, Virginia to Jabez L. Dallas and Elizabeth Wells Dallas. Parents were wed in Pittsylvania on November 20, 1825, and Jabez is shown as head of house in 1840 census.

Father Jabez would pass away in 1848, and mother Elizabeth is shown in 1850 in Pittsylvania with the following children:

  3. Robert H. 1834
  4. George T. Dallas 1836
  5. Eliza F. Dallas 1838
  6. Arthur I. Dallas 1841
  7. Henry C. 1843
  8. Mary S. 1845

In 1860 in the Whitmell section of southern Pittsylvania, George and 5 other siblings were working the family farm, their mother still heading the house.

George would join the CSA in 1861 as a Private, and later promoted to Corporal in Company D of the 38th Virginia Infantry; also known as the Whitmell Guards. He would perish in the Battle of 7 PInes near Richmond on May 31, 1862.
