Robert Dalrymple served in the Revolutionary War. As of August 2018, he is not listed in the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) Patriot database. Robert Dalrymple is DAR Patriot Ancestor #: A206467 -- which states, he served as a Private with Captain Amariah Fuller, Abraham Pierce, Colonels Thatcher (1st MA) and Ebenezer Brooks. Spouse: Sarah Fuller. Children in file: Samuel who m. Sarah Bruce. [1]

According to Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the Revolutionary War, Volume 4, p. 370-371, he served as a Private in Captain Amariah Fuller’s Company (of Newton, Massachusetts), Colonel Samuel Thatcher’s (1st MA) Regiment, in service for 5 days. The company called out 4 March 1776 with roll sworn to at Watertown, Massachusetts.[2]

He returned to military service with Captain Abraham Pierce’s Company, Colonel Eleazer Brooks’ Regiment, joining 22 January 1778 for 12 days, then extending for two months from 3 February 1778 to 3 April 1778 at Cambridge, Massachusetts. Col. Brooks’ Regiment of guards served to guard captured prisoners of the Convention Army of British and allied troops captured after the Battles of Saratoga in October 1777.[3]
