DALTON
I've been researching Frederick Dalton. My research and collaboration with other researchers has shown that 'Dalton' was a name assumed by Bartholomew Frederick Lloyd while living for 20 plus years in Australia between 1858 and 1880.
LLOYD
An anglo Irish family, Whose ancestry is traced in Burkes Landed Gentry of Ireland under the title Lloyd of Losset
MONTGOMERY
the surname of B F Lloyd's wife in Australia is uncertain. the records show two names Montgomery and Wood. Recent record finds are strongly suggesting Montgomery as the maiden surname. With both parents convicts, her brothers continuing with activities on the wrong side of the law and her marriage up into the middle class giving good reason for Rosa to fudge her family heritage in the record. DNA is being used as the path to provide greater certainty on this branch of the tree.

Hi Brendan

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Also noticed you made 27 contributions to Wikitree, thank you! Here at WikiTree we like to have our members involved with others; collaboration is key!

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Here is a list of our WikiTree projects you might like to check out: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects

Why don't you also stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.

Hi Brendan,

Welcome to WikiTree! The email we just sent has helpful links to get you started.

WikiTree is different than other genealogy websites because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree?

When you confirm your email address, you’ll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history. Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests.

When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will confirm your membership. Then you'll be able to add your family to the tree!

We're really glad you're here!
