Hattie was born in 1873. She was the daughter of James Dalton and Sara Noblett. She passed away in 1901.
Hattie died in 1901 of a ruptured apendix. Shortly before her death her husband Sam won the angel that marks her grave in a poker game. He won the angel from William Oliver Wolfe, the father of Thomas Wolfe who wrote the book "Look Homeward Angel". It makes you wonder if the angel sculpture had some part in the naming of the book.
