He married Elizabeth Lodge on 30 April 1910 in St Peter's church, Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire.^[3]

In 1911 William, an Engineers Machinist (slotter), was living with his wife at 18 Albert Street, Ashton Under Lyne. ^[4]
