Henry Dalton was born in 1891 in Harrington, Cumberland, England to William Dalton and Mary (O'Hare) Dalton. His birth was registered in Whitehaven, Cumberland in the second quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name O'Hare.[1]
In 1891 Henry Dalton (age 0) lived at Curwen Street in Harrington with his father William (46, Labourer), mother Mary (32), and six siblings: Margaret (13), Sarah J (11, Scholar), Elizabeth (9, Scholar), Alexander (7, Scholar), Patrick (5, Scholar), and James (2).[2]
In 1901 Henrey Dalton (age 11) lived in Harrington with his father William (46 [~56], Furnace Filler), mother Mary (41) and four siblings: Alexander (17, Furnace Sweep), Patrick (14, Furnace Sweep), James (12), and Catherine (2).[3]
Note: Based on an unsourced family tree, one of the sons in this family died in South Africa in 1972, but it is not certain which one. Only two do not yet have their deaths accounted for: Alexander and Henry. Whichever it was did not have any children.[4]
