Biography

John was probably born in Clooneigh, Tulsk, Roscommon, Ireland in 1844-45. Whilst living 2 houses away from Mary Jane Dalton (cousin ?) it is highly suspected that he was the son of Peter Dalton and Jane ????.

He met and married Mary Carney some time prior to 1889. No marriage certificate has been found at this stage.

In 1901 he is found, age 50 residing in house 4 in Clooneigh (Tulsk, Roscommon) with his wife Mary (45) and children Peter Joseph (10), James (8) and Michael (6).

In 1911 he is found, age 68, widower, residing in house 4 in Clooneigh (Tulsk, Roscommon) with his children Peter Joe (21), James (19) and Michael (17).

He was a farmer (1920)

John passed away in Clooneigh, Tulsk, Roscommon, Ireland on July 15, 1920, age 75 with his son Peter Dalton (Clooneigh) present at his death.
