From Jessica Leigh (Daly) Sundquist

My grandfather, supposedly Arthur Neal Daly, born in the 1880's,was from Coos bay Oregon. He had a wife named Maureen. He met up with my grandmother in Athens Georgia.Edith Inez Wallin. Born 08 20 20. They were pretty much gypsies. They had four children. MaryAnn Daly. Anna(Jeannie)Daly,Arthur Neal Daly(my father),and Charles(Born still-born in Stockton CA). My dad's birthday is 10/03/51.My name is Jessica Leigh (Daly) Sundquist. Grandmother always talked about a plantation her Dad owned in Athens Georgia. Her mother died when she was only three years old. Edith Alice Dora Bell Wallin. Her dad was Charles.Younger sister,Irene.Irene married George.Roy was a brother.Edith's knickname was Jack. The story of the family is novel worthy. They ran off to New Mexico."I married the asshole with my brand new carter's pantsuit- gorgeous blue suit",she always said. All sorts of contradictions. I found out that they moved when the landlord was planning to force them out. Nana was an apartment manager in Minneapolis Minnesota. The position included housing, so they stayed for a few years. Edith always said her family disowned her because of Art and being so much older. In the back of my mind, I've always wondered;Did Maureen die or did he leave her for Nana? She lost her child's part. She always regretted it.My mother introduced the two girls to a couple of men.Her cousin and his college roommate. They married them.I was told often they were allowed to go to work and directly home. They are all kinda creepy.Maybe I am too though.I found out my father, who still goes by Arthur Neal Daly(knicknamed junior),was born in Louisiana,Arthur Dale Raymond. My older sister,Jennifer Ann(Daly)Brandstrom, wasn't privy to my knowledge. She married Duane Raymond Brandstrom.;they had a son.She named him Raymond Duane Brandstrom. Whole hell broke loose with MaryAnn and Jean when they heard the name.My grandmother,Nana,(Edith), raised me partially.Art(junior) and I cla! shed and still do.I was relieved when my parent's divorced.I was Nana's confidant.I heard many things from her with long talks at 4 a.m.Art also spent time in the Idaho state prison .My stepmother tried to do a genealogy search. She found a lady whom claimed to know my Nana ;she mentioned it to my sister.Jennifer asked her two aunts.Another extreme reaction..The family was always surrounded with mysterious fires.Art Sr wrote an autobiography. He gave a copy to my mother. Some things, I do believe. Some wonderful memories. Mostly boasting about terrible things he did and said.Grandma refused to date or remarry when Art died in the 1980's.She said one terrible man is enough. She passed in 2007.
