Biography

Jane Dalzell was a daughter of Thomas Dalzell of Thomastown. She was intelligent and was well-educated by the standards of her time. After marrying Alexander Bell Filson, the district's apothecary, she produced eight children, ran the household, and assisted her husband with his work.
