Notes

House of Proctor Genealogy states Elizabeth was the daughter of Jonathan Proctor (1705-1751) and Desire Jacobs (1715-1751). Her uncle Nathan was appointed guardian, as she was 2 when her parents died. She never married and was a schoolteacher. Their source is A Genealogical History of the Felton Family, Page 87 and Page 113. (Evans-3182;13:55, 5 August 2021 (UTC))

Maybe the second wife of Samuel Proctor There is an Ancestry.com tree that states Samuel Proctor married Elizabeth Dam as a second wife. Her birth is listed as "before 1751." No resources for either person are listed. [4]

Research Notes

I can't find any evidence she was married or used the surname Dam. At her death she is referred to as "daughter of Jonathan". Normally the death record of a married woman refers to her as "wife of .." or "widow of..." Williams-27459 02:02, 16 January 2022 (UTC)

Suggest the LNAB be corrected to Proctor and Dam removed unless some evidence of the marriage can be found.

HER LNAB should be Proctor. If she is the daughter of Jonathan Proctor, the source makes sense but she could not be Dam unless she married a Mr. Dam and the Salem records (at least) show no such marriage.

Is there any additional information about this person? I can't find record of an Elizabeth Dam born in 1751.
