Biography

When Leader DAME was born on September 15, 1790, in York, Maine, his father, Samuel, was 38 and his mother, Anna, was 32. He married Melinda Ann GOODRIDGE and they had one daughter together. He then married Ann FOLSOM and they had eight children together. He died on September 15, 1837, in New York at the age of 47.

Listed in Muster Roll of Captain Eliphalet L. [sic] Maxfield's Company of Infantry in the Detachment of drafted Militia of Maine, called into actual service by the State, for the protection of its Northeastern Frontier, from the twentieth day of February, 1839, the time of its rendezvous at Bangor and Lincoln, Maine, to the twenty-fifth day of April, 1839, when discharged or mustered.[1]
