Ebenezer Dana was born on December 12, 1717 in Cambridge, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, son of Daniel Dana (1663–1749) and Naomi Croswell (1670–1751).

Ebenezer (20) married Mehitable Goodell (21) (born on March 16, 1717 in Pomfret, Windham, Connecticut Colony; daughter of Thomas (Goodell) Goodale and Sarah (Horrell) Goodale) on November 16, 1738 in Pomfret, Windham, Connecticut, British America. Their children were:

Ebenezer died on August 19, 1762 in Havana, Cuba, aged 44.[1] He died "in his Majesties Service".
