Biography

Anne (Danforth) Bridge is related to US President James A. Garfield. Here is the trail.

Anna Danforth was baptized at Framlingham, Suffolk, England on September 3, 1622, daughter of Nicholas and Elizabeth (Barber) Danforth. [1] [2] [3]

She married Matthew Bridge c 1644, as their son John's birth was recorded at Cambridge, Massachusetts in June 1645. [1] Matthew Bridge was born c 1618, son of Deacon John Bridge who emigrated to Cambridge in 1634. [4]

  • 1658/9: January: In a survey of Cambridge church members, she is named as Anne Bridge, wife of Matthew Bridge and daughter of Nicholas Danforth. [1] [4]

Matthew died on April 28, 1700 at Lexington, Massachusetts. [5] [6] [3] [2]

Anne's death, recorded at both Cambridge and Lexington, died on December 9, 1704. [5] [6] [3] [2]
