You sent me something saying that Samuel Danforth is not the father of Francis Marion Danforth. I have DNA connections to both. Could you help me find a birth certificate or record for Francis and who his mother was? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Are you referring to
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Danforth-534 Francis Marion Danforth Sr (abt. 1842 - abt. 1927)
It looks like he was born in Indiana. The Samuel Danforth born in Maine is in the 1850:census with his wife in Maine, living with his parents. Francis is not listed.
I see the same connection on FamilySearch.
So perhaps his father was a Samuel that lived in Indiana?

I run a wikitree+ check for suggested edits, corrections which sends me all over for profiles. That was what led me to update his profile.
Thanks for your contributions to Puritan Great Migration (PGM) project profiles.
Like all WikiTree projects we check in with team members periodically to find out about their continued interest in the project. Would you please respond by February 12, 2024, to let us know about your interest:
1. Would you like to continue as a PGM project team member?;
2. Do you have any suggestions for PGM Project priorities in the next year (optional)?;
3. Do you have interest in taking a more active role within the PGM project, and if so, what you might be interested in doing (optional)?
Please respond to this comment on your profile, or if you'd like, send a private message to either Bobbie (Madison) Hallor S (Hill) Willson.
Thanks for all you do for PGM and WikiTree!
Regards,
Bobbie and Sharon, Co-Leaders, Puritan Great Migration Project
Have enjoyed working the Wikitree+ suggestion list too. We are making slow steady progress there. Also, thanks for the Community Star.
This set of location names may be helpful to you when editing place names for ancestors who were living before 1791: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Puritan_Great_Migration_Editing_Guidance#Location_Names

Learned the original name for the town of Wiscasset ,Maine. Pownalborough, Province of Massachusetts Bay (now Wiscasset ,Maine) The list of suggestions that show up was not helpful though it did recognize the town name.
Welcome to Wikitree.
Hi, not sure what the notification was that you got. I work on a list of profiles that have suggested corrections. Perhaps it was one of those. But they usually are a relative if a distant cousin.
I wonder how many folks on wikitree share that same ancestor.
