He married Lydia Hollinshead in Ontario, Canada. His death was reported in the Norfolk News, 11 December 1847, Norfolk, England. "On September 28 at Elk River Illinois, U.S. after an illness of six hours, aged 35 years, Mr. Henry William Daniel formerly of this county, leaving a widow and 5 children to lament the severe bereavement". The fact that his death was reported in Norfolk, England leads one to believe that contact was kept up with his family back in Norfolk.
