DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Edwin by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Edwin:

It has been proven beyond doubt (contrary to many incorrect published genealogies) through direct male descendant Y-DNA testing that Josiah Jonas Daniel, father of Marmaduke Edwin Daniel, was not, in fact, the son of Josiah Daniel, Sr. of the Middlesex Daniel line and therefore not the Josiah Daniel Jr. who married Virginia Elizabeth Jordan. She was not Marmaduke's mother, who remains unknown, as do his grandparents on both sides.
