Karen,

I recently read an abstract of Woodson Daniel's will that differs from your post. This was listed in "Wake County North Carolina Abstracts of Wills, Iventories and Settlements of Estates 1771-1802" by Frances Holloay Wynn, Oracle Press, Baton Rouge 1984:

Daniel, Woodson Sr. will 15 May 1792 P306. In the name of God amen. Wife Nancy Daniel 160 A tract of land whereon I now live, Negroes Jacob, Issabel, Dinah, Household furniture during her life and after to be divided among all children. Son John Daniel: Negroes Will, Milley. Son in law William Clements and my Daughter Elizabeth Clements: Negroes Patt, Nathan. Son in law James Parker and daughter Charlotte Parker: Negroes Alice and Hannah. Son David Daniel: Negroes Ben, Patt daughter of Bess. Son in law Spencer Talley and daughter Winney Talley: Negroes Tabitha, Isaac.Son Woodson Daniel: Negroes Jude, Joe. Son William Daniel: Negroes Bess, Hubbard, Daniel. The heirs of William Little, decd.: 200 A tract of land in Granville Co. Adjoining the lands of Thomas Clemments, Willis Tucker, John Story and John Comer Peek. Sell my half of grist and saw mills together with residue of property not given away to pay debts. 100 A of land to be sold with the mill and ferry allowing 12 months credit. 7 Jun 1791. Executors: Friend William Reeves, Thomas Thomlinson son John and wife Nancey. Witnesses: Rd. Banks, Jesse Rice, William (+) Carpenter.

Most notable difference is son James' inclusion in this version.

Mike Daniel

her reply - she will change record

All the sons seem to have been well educated and most served in the military, so weren't Quakers, etc. Elizabeth and Narcissa were common female names in this family. If you have or do run across any links to this family, please keep me in mind. Thanks, Kevin.
