Sarah was the daughter of Isham Daniel. She married Jesse Jean before 1784, probably in Chatham County, NC, where they both lived. Jesse died before November 1791, when Sarah turned in an inventory of his estate[1]. The 1790 census for Jesse does not show a male over 16. Either the census taker just neglected to check the box, or it is possible that Jesse was deceased by this time but was named as head of household, anyway. They had one male and one female child in 1790 (althought it is indexed at Ancestry as 7 females instead of two[2]. According to the 1800 census Sarah had one male child under 10, one male between 10-16, and one female between 10-16 and she was between 26 -45[3].
Sarah married Isaac Mathis about 1801. They moved to Washington County, Georgia on Keg Creek. Isaac died about 1814[4]. In 1824 her land was sold to satisfy a judgment against her and her son Jesse. Sarah died after 1825[5] and before 1828.
She had the following known children
John Jean born 1784 died in Heard County, GA
Jesse Jean born about 1791 died in Gwinett County, GA
Unknown daughter born 1785 - 1790
Littleton Mathis born about 1803 died in Washington County, GA
