Biography

Josephine was born in 1854. She is the daughter of Francis Daniels and Dorcas Simmons. In 1860, the family was living in Jackson Parish, Louisiana.[1] By 1870, the family had moved to Madison County, Texas.[2]

Josephine married James Samuel Bartee. In 1880, the couple and their children were living in Jones Prairie, Milam, Texas.[3] The household included:
