The Henry County Marriage Index,1851-1900, US Genweb, Henry County, shows has her indexed as DORTRY. Dortry was wrong and a badly transcribed DARDEN. Parents Felix and Emmerline Darden appear to be deceased after the 1870 Census of Monroe County, Ga and before the 1880 Census. I find the minor children Mary and siblings Queen and Wood living as servants in three separate household of Butts County for the 1880 Census. DNA evidence shows Felix was born to slave owner William Darden in about 1820 Monroe County, Ga. I can find no information of Emmerline who's maiden name on the death certificate of Mary Darden-Grant is recorded as PURELY.
