Trying to connect my RI Hopkins and Darling ancestors. I have Bible records for Seth6 Hopkins b1748, son of Jabez5 (written Jabish) & Bethia Hopkins.

Seth6 Hopkins married Mary Darling born 1753 Rhode Island. Last in a long list of births from 1713-1774 is the entry Darling Hopkins was born December 3rd day in the year 1774. There is nothing written in the Bible records to connect him to Seth Hopkins & Mary Darling but the dates could work for a son of theirs.

______________

Gideon Hopkins was born on month day 1773, at birth place, Rhode Island, to Seth Hopkins and Mary Hopkins (born Darling). Seth was born in 1750, in Scituate, Providence, Rhode Island, United States. Mary was born in 1753, in Glocester, Providence, Rhode Island, United States.

http://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/darling/2284/ Gideon had 3 brothers: Stephen Hopkins and 2 other siblings. Gideon passed away in 1774.

Hawkins-1557 and Darling-1677 do not represent the same person because: the resemblance is almost non-existent.
