Biography

Dorcas Darling was born in 1758 in Glocester, Providence, Rhode Island. Her parents were Ebenezer Darling and Mary Hakes.

She married Jeremiah Sweet on 13 March 1780 in Glocester, Rhode Island.

Together they had 6 children:

1. Mary Sweet, b. 1780, d. 1824
2. Timothy Sweet
3. Anna Sweet, b. 1782
4. Elizabeth A. Sweet, b. 1789
5. Esther Sweet, b. 1795
6. Ebenezer Sweet, b. 1799

She died on 16 September 1852 in Scituate, Rhode Island.

Her will dated 17 June 1845 was proved in Scituate, Rhode Island on 13 December 1852. She mentions her son, Timothy, and daughters, Anna, Mary, and Elizabeth.
