Biography

James was born in 1848. He was the son of James Darling and Louisa Hamilton.

He was a Postmaster.

He married Rachel Arabella Copeland (b. 1852 d. 1923) , daughter of George Copeland and Charlotte Westcott on 11 June 1879 at Penetanguishene, Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. [1]

They adopted:

  1. Charles Thompson b. 1888 d.1916.

Charles was the son of William Francis Henry Thompson and Harriet Copeland. He was adopted by James Darling and Rachel Copeland. Rachel's sister Harriet had died in 1889 when Charles was 1 year old. He took the last name of Darling.

He passed away in 1923. [2]
