Philip Darnall was born about 1671 in Maryland (now United States). His father was Col. Henry Darnall.
His mother is not known. His father Henry Darnall married Eleanor Hatton, widow of Thomas Brooke, in 1679 in Baltimore, Maryland. There is no known record of a prior marriage for his father. However Eleanor Hatton cannot be Philip's mother since:
Philip Darnall married Eleanor Brooke, daughter of Col Thomas Brooke, of Brookfield, Prince George County, Maryland, and Eleanor Hatton.[1]
Philip died about 1705. The inventory and assessment of his estate was dated 29 Oct 1705.[2] A suppliment to Philip Darnall's estate inventory and assessment took place in 1707.[3]
Philip died before 1711, as only his children are mentioned in his father Henry Darnall's will of April 1711.[4] In particular, Henry's will identifies grandsons Henry and Philip, and granddaughters Eleanor and Sarah, of his son Philip. In 1711, Henry and Philip were under 18, and Eleanor and Sarah were under 15.
Philip Darnall lived at his father's property, Portland Manor. For more information please see the Portland Manor Plantation page.
