A misguided marriage date of 23 Sep 1729 has been seen but no source was attached. Possibly it was a clerical error - maybe it is a death date ... since wiki shows that Elizabeth Goodman married prior to 1691. Maybe a death date for him of 1729 is also wrong
Francis may have married an Elizabeth Goodman(1658-1729)
Death: There is no substantiation for this date; therefor I have moved this "fact?" to research notes until a reliable source is found.

From what I can see in the Adstock registers, Francis Darnell and Elizabeth had at least nine children all baptised in Adstock between 1676 and 1691, therefore their likely marriage occurred c1675. Therefore definitely not the Elizabeth Goodman marriage in Rutland in 1704. No other suitable marriage has yet been found. Francis must therefore have been born c1645 or earlier. London baptism of a Francis in 1643 is problematical as the transcript states female child although giving the male spelling of Francis. There is a transcribed baptism of a Frances Darnell in East Claydon, Bucks. in 1655. East Claydon is close to Adstock and a next door parish to Steeple Claydon where Nicholas Edwin married Mary Wallis. There are other Darnells in East Claydon, and my best guess at the moment is that Francis was born in this parish. His baptism is either missing (because of the commonwealth hiatus) of the baptism transcribed as Frances in 1655 might be wrong. Register or BTs will have to be checked for accuracy.
