PIERRE DAROIS is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana, on Plaque 2 Right. Listed with him is his spouse, Marie Bourgeois, and their son Michel.[1]
Pierre Darois, son of Jean Darois and Marguerite Breau, was born about 1736 in Beaubassin, Acadia. [citation needed] His grand dérangement story needs research to be told here.
After the grand dérangement, Pierre immigrated to Louisiana, where he and Marie Josephe Bourgeois, also from Beaubassin, had their marriage blessed by the church. They had married around 1763 at the close of the war and rehabilitated their marriage at St. Louis Church (now Cathedral) in New Orleans, Louisiana on 8 April 1765.[2][3]
Their son, Michel Darois, was born and baptized on 19 February 1765 in New Orleans.
In 1769 on the Acadian Coast census in Ascension, Louisiana, a man named "Darzoin" is listed with a wife named Marie Bourgeois, but their son is listed as "Ollivier."[4]
This is believed to have been the family of Pierre Doiron, who was listed on the same plaque of the Wall of Names.[1]
On 1 January 1777 this Pierre Darois and his wife were counted, without their son, in nearby St. James, Louisiana.[5]
Pierre died and was buried on 4 October 1803 in St. James, Louisiana.[6]

Doiron-1886 and Darois-22 appear to represent the same person because: Would someone familiar with WON and Louisiana sources please review these two people? There are many similarities but not exact line up. Landry says he is Darois and has both children from the Dorion profile linked. The same 1766 census source is used on both profiles.
They have separate entries on the same page of my edition of the WON book. Their wives have the same name. Darois' son is named Michel; Doiron's son is Olivier, and he has a daughter named Marguerite.
On the 1769 census, the wife is Marie Bourgeois, age 35, but the husband is called "Darzoin," age 36; they have one son listed as Olivier (age 5). In 1777 he is listed as "Pierre Darrios (Barrios)," age 40, with wife Marie Bourgeois, age 42.
Doiron-1886 and Darois-22 do not represent the same person because: Different surnames, dates, and two different entries in the Wall of Names booklet. These are two separate people.
Thank you.

Not listed on 1766 census in Cabanocey.
