Henry Daubeney, 1st and last Earl of Bridgwater was born in December 1493. He was the son of Giles Daubeney, 1st Baron Daubeney and Elizabeth Arundell. He m.(1) Lady Elizabeth Neville, daughter of Sir George Neville, 3rd Lord Abergavenny and Lady Joan FitzAlan, bf. 16 July 1517 and (2)Lady Katharine Howard, daughter of Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk and Agnes Tilney. He succeeded his father as 2nd Baron Daubeney on 22 May 1508. He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) on 23 June 1509. He was created 1st Earl of Bridgwater on 19 July 1538.

He died on 12 April 1548 at age 54, without issue and on his death, his titles became extinct.

Daubeney is the spelling for the surname and title used by Cokayne[1] Other sources refer to the French spelling, either d'Aubigny or Aubigny.
