Biography

Jane Daugherty was the daughter of William Daugherty and wife, Mary. During Mary's application for William's service pension, a family friend gave affidavit that Jane was 21 or 22 in 1818. Her birth year is estimated by this affidavit. Census records determine William and Mary Daugherty were residing in Washington County, Kentucky by the year 1810. A Washington County, Kentucky marriage record exists for a Jane Daugherty to Benjamin Scott 24 April 1813 (This collection appears to represent when bonds were issued).
