Whitt was born in 1883. He is the son of Robert Daughtry and Lucinda Ward. In 1900, the family was living in Echo, Dale, Alabama.[1]
Whitt married a woman named Pearl Ida Hutto on 23 Apr 1905 in Marianna, Jackson, Florida.[2] In 1910, they were living in Noblin, Geneva, Alabama.[3]

By 1935, Whitt and Pearl were living in Webster, Sumter, Florida. They had three children at home - Louis, Brady and Ruby.[7] They were still in Webster in 1940.[8]
Whitt passed away in 1950.[9] Burial was in the Linden Cemetery, Linden, Sumter County, Florida.[10]

On the WWI draft paperwork, Whitt signed his name Whitt Carter Daughtry. Some records spell his first name as Whit. One census record spelled his surname as Daugherty.
