Biography

Dana was born on April 16th, 1979, 3 months premature with a congenital heart defect (Tetralogy of Fallot) and was incubated for several months before being allowed home.[1]

Dana's parents divorced when she was 3 (Need clarification from mom) and her mother moved her to Ontario. She lived in Guelph (twice), Stratford, Kemptville / Oxford Station [2].

During high-school, Dana met her future husband online (which was considered unorthodox at the time); he lived in Missouri, U.S.A. After graduating from high-school, Dana moved to Missouri and married Jason in 1999.

Dana and Jason are currently (2015) enrolled in Lindenwood University attaining a bachelor's degree in Virtualization and Cloud Computing, with plans to perdue a master's degree in the same field [2]

Hey Hello!

How do you pass on freedom?

The DRP organizes our Annual Liberation Day Challenge again. Please join us!

Challenges are mainly meant to get to know each other better and to have fun with each other.

Again this year, we try again to give great resistance heroes a nice profile on WT, because they deserve it, also to provide them with ancestors and we also try to connect them to "our" WT.

Would you like to help? You are very welcome !

The Dutch Roots Challenge Project.

Hi Dana! I'm glad you're on the Nor'Easters team for this weekend. I don't remember if I've introduced myself before. We are fairly close cousins, probably on a few Nova Scotia lines. Cheers, Chris

Hi Dana,

I was wondering if perhaps you would be interested to work on the Portal World-The Netherlands with Melissa and Bill and hopefully more members ? I was thinking maybe we can make it a sub Project of the Dutch Roots Project, where you all can add or work on more specific things related to the Netherlands you would like to see added there or work on.

If you are interested just add your name to the list and let me know, or you can of course contact Melissa or Bill directly.

Greets from the Netherlands,

Bea :)

Hi Dana,

Did you know there's a new Source-a-Thon 2017 (first register here) organized for 30 September -2 October 2017 ? A huge event, to keep things organized we are going to work with teams again, since you're a member of our Project, perhaps you would like to join our Team Flying Dutchmen Team to help and source and improve Unsourced Netherlands profiles ?

We sure can use some help and you can win prizes, but the best thing of course is we are going to work on this together get as many as possible Unsourced profiles Sourced and improved and have a lot a fun ! :)

Hi Dana, I would like to have a copy of the certificate but sadly, I do not. It would be a process to get it but well worth having. It is recorded as Dauphine with an aigu in a book by Terrence M. Punch, published in 2014 on the Montbeliard Immigration to Nova Scotia, which I googled at familysource.org. I do not have book, just found reference to it there. Two forms of the name including Dauphinee on the Montbeliard monument in Lunenburg. I am guessing the extra e happened during or shortly after immigration as a clerical error or as a preferred form of the name. In Nfld, it is not recorded as Dauphinee but as Duffenais and other forms, all to do with whether priest was French or English. I would look for a primary resource before changing it because it is a pre-1700 ancestor.
