There are several close marriages in Canterbury Connecticut.
On pages 175 and 176 of the Canterbury Vital Records index you can see Abigail Davenport (Paul's Sister) marrying Thomas Adams Feb 23 1714/15 while on the facing page Paul Davenport marries Abigail Adams (sister of Thomas Adams) June 28 1709[1][2] Also worth noting is that the area around Boston, where the Adams and Davenports lived in the 1680's is becoming urbanized and these families seem drawn to the more rural lifestyle of subsistence farming. Enter: Canterbury Connecticut, established in 1703 with many new farm sites safely tucked into Eastern Connecticut. It should come as no surprise that both families relocate Canterbury at the same time.
