Biography

William Davenport lived in Appalachia, in South Carolina.

William Thomas Davenport, son of Perry Davenport and Martha (Cox) Davenport, was born on 1 Sep. 1866 at South Carolina.[1] He was a farm laborer when he appeared on the census of 21 June 1880 at Belton Township, Anderson County, South Carolina.[2]

He married Mamie Udora Hodgens,[1] daughter of Francis Marion Hodgens and Carrie Permelia (Springfield) Hodgens,[3]

William died on 22 Feb. 1936 at Pelzer, Greenville County, South Carolina and was buried at Big Creek Cemetery, Williamston, Anderson County, South Carolina.[1] His memorial has photos and and links to those of family members.[3]
