James David / Davies 1791 Nolton

Son of William and Mary David (Davies) circa 1757 Collier from Nolton

James David was the son of William and Mary Davies of Nolton, and was baptised 12th June 1791 at Nolton parish church Pembs. We know that he married at least twice, because there is a marriage at Nolton parish church in 1839. When a James Davies a widower married Mary James of Nolton. Both are recorded as living at Marlborough Gate. Other than this there is little else to go on as regards to James. Except an entry on the 1851 census for Neath Glamorganshire. There is a William Davies born 1791, and recorded as being born in Roch parish Pembs. The only down side to this is that he is married to a Phoebe, and his wife (on the 1839 wedding) is Mary. But he was married prior to that so maybe he married again. But for the moment we will put this James as a possible, rather than 100% dead certainty.

3rd March 1839 Marriage at Nolton parish church Pembs James Davies. Widower of full age a Labourer from Marlborough Gate the son of William Davies a Labourer To Mary James. Single of Marlborough Gate the daughter of Daniel James a Labourer Both made their mark Witnessed by Thomas Evans & James Evans

There is a James Davies of Roch Pembs on the 1851 census @ London Road Neath Glam, but his wife is Phoebe and not Mary.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:
