Gary David was a Washingtonian.


Gerald was born in 1932. He was the son of Myron David and Burnice Wright. He passed away in 2016. Buried in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Bremerton, Kitsap County, Washington.

Gerald A. (Gary) David of Quilcene Oct. 24, 1932 to May 1, 2016 Veteran

Gerald Allen (Gary) David, 83 of Quilcene, passed away on May 1, 2016 in Bremerton. He was born on Oct. 24, 1932 to Myron and Burnice David. He was raised and educated in Bremerton, later living in Silverdale until 8 years ago when he and his wife of 60 years, Jane (Gibson) David, moved to Dabob Bay by Quilcene.

Gary is survived by his wife; two daughters, Melinda (Reed) Callis of Forks, Lorraine (Robert) Lesoing of Eugene, Oregon; sons, Gary David of Quilcene and Martin David of Port Townsend, Washington; granddaughters, Cassandra, Carina, Carissa, Jolene, Ashley, Kathleen, and Christina; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Keith David and Dale David; and a nephew, Steven David.

Gary began working at PSNS in 1951 fresh out of high school. He proudly served in the Army and returned to work at PSNS where he steadily rose in position and responsibility until he reached the top of his trade as superintendent of the Electric Shop in 1982, a positon he held until his retirement in October 1987, and at which time the Department of the Navy presented him with the Meritorious Civilian Service award for being of high value and benefit to the Navy. Over the years, Gary served as president of his church council, president of the Kitsap Little Britches Rodeo Association, and was an active longtime member of the local Jr. Chamber of Commerce.
